Ithaca, N.Y. -- Sophomore Glen Palilla (Bethpage/Plainview) scored a pair of goals to lead the Bombers to a 5-1 win over third-ranked Rochester. Ithaca is ranked fourth in the latest New York Region poll; the Yellowjackets were the region’s top-ranked team.

Palilla’s first goal gave the Bombers a 3-0 lead. After Rochester scored to cut the lead to 3-1, he restored the three-goal margin less than a minute later. Freshman Mark Jefferies (Brighton/Rochester) notched four points, assisting on Palilla’s second goal and scoring Ithaca’s final
goal. He also assisted on a goal by Mike Orpin (Bishop Guertin/Nashua, N.H.). Senior Benjamin Visnyei (Joel Barlow/Redding, Conn.) scored his team-leading third goal of the season off an assist by freshman John DeCarlo (Williamsville East/Williamsville). Freshman Alex Adrien (Blair Academy/Selden) picked up an assist. Senior Ted Meyer (Strath Haven/Wallingford, Pa.) stopped seven shots.

Ithaca has hosted three teams ranked in the top 15, tying #12 Stevens Tech and defeating #7 Rowan and #3 Rochester.
